[Begin Cassie Laundrie Good Morning America Interview Transcript]

MICHAEL STRAHAN: That ABC News exclusive interview with Brian Laundrie’s sister who’s speaking out as police hunt for her brother. And this morning, a new message from Gabby Petito’s family as well. ABC’s Victor Oquendo is in Miami Beach, Florida with the very latest. Good morning, Victor.

VICTOR OQUENDO: Good morning, Michael. We have learned so much more about this case in the week since we last heard from Cassie Laundrie. It turns out she was also on that family camping trip that Brian took with his parents after he returned home without Gabby Petito. Cassie insists she still doesn’t know where her brother is.

CASSIE LAUNDRIE: No, I do not know where Brian is. I’d turn him in…

VICTOR OQUENDO [voiceover]: Overnight, Cassie Laundrie attempting to set the record straight, speaking out for the first time since Gabby Petito’s body was found and her brother Brian was reported missing, later named a person of interest in Petito’s murder and wanted by the FBI in a fraud investigation.

CASSIE LAUNDRIE: I really wish he had come to me first that day with the van, because I don’t think we’d be here. I worry about him. I hope he’s okay. And then I’m angry and I don’t know what to think. I would tell my brother to just come forward and get us …

Why Are Police Searching Carlton Reserve for Brian Laundrie?

Why are police searching Carlton Reserve for Brian Laundrie Search?

Frustration grows as day 5 of the search comes to a close, and the public wants to know why police are searching Carlton Reserve for Brian Laundrie. The answer? Because they know something we don’t.

Editorial / Option Piece

“Come on!!! You are wasting your time [at Carlton Reserve]. Brian Laundrie’s parents are obviously good manipulators. They have you believing he’s there, but he’s not!”

North Port Police Facebook Brian Laundrie Search why Carlton Reserve is he out of country
The Search for Brian Laundrie: North Port Police face a barrage of comments from people questioning why they are searching the Carlton Reserve.

If you look at the North Port Police Facebook page, you will find that 90% of the comments share the same sentiment: Despite a massive 5-day search, Brian Laundrie is not in the Carlton Reserve. Police should not be searching there, and it’s obvious they’re there under the direction of Brian Laundrie’s parents (Laundrie’s parents told police their son went to the nature area over a week ago to “meditate” and ‘hike”. When he did not return home, they notified police three days later).

It’s clear the general public has questions and is feeling extremely disillusioned with the direction the search is headed, especially as days continue to pass without Brian Laundrie being located.

But let’s think about this rationally. Law Enforcement is searching that Reserve for a very particular reason. A reason we likely won’t know details of until Brian Laundrie is found.

The FBI has taken the reigns, and personnel from 65 different agencies are on the ground aiding. And it’s not just humans assisting in the search for Brian Laundrie. Swamp buggies, boats, drones, helicopters, and planes have also been deployed. Think of the expense — this is likely costing hundreds of thousands of dollars per day, and the treacherous terrain poses a real danger to those involved.…

Crystal Rogers Update – FBI Excavate Driveway of Home Formerly Owned by Brooks Houck

FBI excavate the driveway of home belonged to Brooks Houck, boyfriend of Crystal Rogers, as they search for clues in her disappearance. Location - Bardstown Kentucky - Red Brick house on North Howard Street.

Crystal Rogers FBI Search Updates / August 2021

NOTE: This is an ongoing story that will be updated. Last Update Friday August 27, 2021

Massive news in the case of Crystal Rogers, a 35 year old missing mom-of-five from Kentucky. After taking over the case almost exactly a year ago, the FBI made a sudden return to Crystal’s hometown of Bardstown, Kentucky… and they brought search warrants with them!

On July 5, 2015, Rogers’ 2007 Chevrolet sedan was found abandoned on the side of the Bluegrass Parkway with a flat tire. The keys were still in the ignition, and her purse and cellphone were located inside the vehicle. Two and a half months later, Crystal’s boyfriend, Brooks Houck, was named by then-Sheriff Ed Mattingly as the prime suspect in her disappearance. While police have confirmed they believe she is dead, her remains have never been located.

Upon arrival in Bardstown on Tuesday August 25th, FBI teams began searching three properties in Woodlawn Springs, a 250-acre subdivision in the rural town. A cadaver dog and ground penetrating radar were brought on scene. Sherri Ballard, mother of Rogers, said her family searched the area years prior during an independent investigation into her daughter’s whereabouts. Houck was involved in a construction project in the neighborhood that lined up with the timeframe Crystal went missing.

By the morning of Wednesday August 25, the FBI appeared to narrow their range of focus onto one home on N. Howard Street; more specifically, a section of driveway and bordering gravel drainage ditch. Tents were set up on top of the driveway, shielding agents as they dug up the area with shovels and ran dirt through handheld sifters.

Delphi Murders Debunking: Facts and Fictions

The 2017 unsolved double homicides of teens Liberty German and Abigail Williams (known as The Delphi Murders) is one of the most discussed and debated cases of the social media era, with people across the globe invested in finding a resolution.

While the definitive basics of the case are known, there is still much mystery surrounding the details of what transpired.

With nearly unlimited outlets to discuss the case ranging from message boards and Facebook groups to call-in true crime shows, people often try to bridge the gap between the known and unknown. Sometimes the more circulated theories get taken as fact.

We’ve compiled a list of some of the most oft-repeated rumors circling the Delphi Murders case to either refute or validate with facts from sourced interviews with trusted voices (ex: family, law enforcement) or mark as unknown.

This will remain an open article that will be adjusted and added to as the case continues to progress.

RUMOR: Abby and Libby died on different dates.

FINDING: False.

LIKELY ORIGIN OF RUMOR: In the newspaper, Libby German’s obituary lists her date of death as February 13, 2017.  Abby Williams’ obituary lists her date of death as February 14, 2017.

“Things that have simple explanations have been turned into full-blown conspiracy theories by an online community desperate for answers where there are none. An example of this is the fact that Abby and Libby have different dates of death on their headstones*: Abby’s is February 14th, 2017 but Libby’s is February 13th. This disparity led to rumors that Abby and Libby died on different days… that Abby was still alive when she was found… that the girls had been transported somewhere and kept alive for some time. This could not be further from the truth. Both girls were killed

Crime Scene ‘Signatures’ Will Reveal the Killer: FBI Agent Jay Abbott Interview Transcript ⎮Delphi Murders

Delphi Murders FBI Agent Jim Abbott Interview Transcript. Will Delphi murders signatures at crime scene help solve the case and reveal the killer suspect? 2021 update

FBI Special Agent-in-Charge Jim Abbott discusses his role in the Delphi Murders investigation – Transcript.

[BEGIN FBI AGENT JIM ABBOTT INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT]

JAY ABBOTT (FBI SPECIAL AGENT IN CHARGE): The FBI doesn’t necessarily have jurisdiction for murder cases. This was clearly a case that was within the jurisdiction of the State Police. And Doug Carter, Superintendent of Indiana State Police, is a good friend and a great colleague during that time, and continues to be a great friend. He came and asked for our assistance. As the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Indianapolis Division, I had, during my tenure, the option… the authority to provide whatever assistance he might want to the level that I thought was appropriate. I was absolutely enthused to unleash every FBI asset, technical ability… anything that we had to try to help him solve this case. Indiana State Police stayed the forefront in charge of the case. But, I will tell you that there were those days when the FBI certainly had more personnel in and around Delphi than anyone else in law enforcement. Some days I think we were over a hundred personnel that I was trying to keep track of, all doing various things in different capacities. Whether it was with the command post, videography type things, voice type analysis, crime scene experts, behavioral analysis experts, and then of course just numerous agents of pounding the pavement and running down leads that we had from thousands and thousands of tips.

REPORTER: When you’re out there… week one, week two, month two, month five, year one… what goes through your guys’s mind when you are still no arrests?

JAY ABBOTT: Each day that went by, we just felt like we were gonna be closer, and closer, and closer. And the investigators that …

Dr. Oz Delphi Murders Video: Robert Ives Transcript

Dr. Oz Delphi Murders Show Interview with Robert Ives Transcript (Carroll County Prosecutor)

In February 2021, former Carroll County Prosecutor Robert Ives appeared on The Dr. Oz Show to discuss the Delphi Murders. Though the interview was brief, Ives again mentioned the “three or four signatures” left by the killer and described the crime scene as “very unusual”.

Below is the video of the show, as well as a transcript of Robert Ives’ interview.

https://youtu.be/FEnAN4WSjIY

[Begin Robert Ives Dr. Oz Show Transcript]

DR. OZ: Let me bring in Robert Ives who was the Chief Prosecutor in Carroll County, Indiana at the time of these murders, and who can shed a little light in how unique this crime scene was. Thank you for being here, sir. The girls’ cause of death is still protected, which I understand, but what can you tell us about the actual crime scene, with what you’re allowed to share? Could this have been the work of a serial killer?

ROBERT IVES: Well, I think like most people because the trail is not well known… it’s not a big tourist spot, and because the bridge itself is something you wouldn’t cross unless you were familiar with the area. The bridge was abandoned 30 years ago, and when you see the person walking across with his head down, it’s because it’s not safe to cross that bridge. The bridge was not part of the trail. The trail terminated at the bridge. And so most people I believe, and most people law enforcement thought “It must be a local person” because why would anybody be there? Why would you be familiar with that trail? But on the other hand, the crime is so… it’s impossible to think of a motivation for the crime. Generally [in the past] when you have a murder in rural Indiana, this is Carroll County, the motive was …
