Below is the full Delphi Press Conference Transcript. On Monday April 22, 2019, investigators from Delphi Indiana Police, Indiana State Police, The FBI and Carroll County Sheriff’s office invited the media and public to attend a press conference with new information about the murders of Libby German and Abby Williams. They released audio and video footage of the suspect, as well as a new police sketch which looks very different from the well known “Bridge Guy” sketch. SUPERINTENDENT CARTER: I wasn’t sure quite what to expect when I walked out, but I got to say to the Delphi Community, um, I got to say to the Delphi Community how grateful I am. You inspire people you don’t even understand when, you don’t even understand why. Information is being released today is the result of literally thousands and thousands of hours of extraordinary investigative efforts by Delphi, Carroll County, The FBI, The Indiana State Police and countless other agencies. This community surrounded us some 26 months ago. And you did everything you could to support us, but most importantly you surrounded the family of these two little girls. Gosh, I’ll never forget it! Chris: Nothing that makes anybody want to do this. You could be angry at your spouse like your whole life but you should never have done anything like this. You should never let it get to that point. I let it get to a point where I’ve never— I mean, I’ve never been angry before- and this was like the epitome of being angry. The epitome of showing a rage. The epitome of of like, losing your mind. Some people in here have said like dude what the heck happened you must have frickin’ snapped and like, I just walk away. Chris Watts Confession Transcription: Read the full transcript of the five hour interview with FBI, CBI and Frederick, CO police.

For over 24 hours I have been working on the Chris Watts confession transcription. It’s taking a VERY long time, especially since Chris can have moments where he talks very fast, mumbles at the same time, and doesn’t finish a thought before jumping to the next. With that, I have done my best! Chris uses excessive amounts of “likes” and “ums”- in some cases I have removed those unnecessary fillers without changing the other words if it made the sentence overly difficult to understand in print. There are also a few times where it is absolutely impossible to understand a word/sentence he said- in that case I added a note or (??). Additionally, occasional notes have been marked and added for clarity. If you are a website or a blog who would like to use this transcription, please link directly to this page- as I said, I’ve devoted an incredible amount of time & put in a lot of effort to transcribe this in hopes it will be helpful! Shanann Watts Letter to Chris Watts Revealed

Before Shanann Watts left on a weekend work trip to Arizona, she took time out of packing and preparing to write a heartfelt letter to her husband, Chris Watts. She carefully crafted sentences expressing her love and sharing all the little things she appreciated about Chris, while noting growing concerns about her husband’s distant demeanor and reluctance to stand up for his daughters after a recent family problem.

When Shanann Watts shared a photo of the letter she wrote through text with her friend Sara, she didn’t know this would be the last letter she would ever pen. She didn’t know that during the time she was putting ink to paper, trying so hard to find words that would resonate with her husband and motivate him to make their marriage a priority, that he was transferring risqué images of his mistress to a hidden app on his phone. Chris Watts was living a double life, trying to meticulously hide an affair from his 16 week pregnant wife. But what Shanann did know was that something wasn’t right- something had changed, and she planned to do everything she could to try to fix the relationship with the father of her children and the man she vowed to love and cherish until death do them part.

Recently a 2000 page Discovery document from the Watts case was released publicly, detailing the investigation from day one. The report shows just how through the inquiry was, filled with police notes, interview transcripts, and Shannon and Chris Watts’ phone and text records and conversations. Over the next few days, Crime Lights will be diving into the report and discussing interesting aspects of it to give a clearer picture of exactly what investigators uncovered.

What Happened to Foxcatcher Farm Estate in Pennsylvania?

After inheriting his parent’s colossal Liseter Hall estate, John du Pont transformed the property into Foxcatcher wrestling camp & training facility. But what happens to a multi million dollar manor when the owner commits a cold blooded killing?

John Eleuthere du Pont was born into a life of privilege. A member of the one of the richest families in the country, the du Pont family originally found their fortune in the gunpowder business, expanding their wealth in the automotive and chemical industry. After his parents divorced, John lived with his mother at Liseter Estate in Newtown, Pennsylvania. John had little interest in taking the easy road his life could have afforded him. Instead of living as a trust fund baby, du Pont pursued higher educations in the sciences, earning a doctorate degree and working as an ornithologist, credited with discovering 24 new species of birds.

Inheriting the 440 acre Liseter Estate after his mother’s death, du Pont turned the land into Foxcatcher Farm and developed a word renowned wresting facility on the property, drawing champions from across the globe and renowned Olympians. “Team Foxcatcher” was named in honor of his father’s famous stables. He hosted many wrestling competitions, and allowed some athletes to live on the grounds of the sprawling Foxcatcher estate.

In various interviews friends have said that John du Pont’s love of sports (especially wrestling), truly made him come alive. But it was his involvement in wrestling that ultimately ended the life of Olympic medalist Dave Schultz. On January 26, 1996, du Pont shot Schultz in the driveway of the home he was living in, which was on the Foxcatcher Farm property. There has never been a solid motive for the spur …
