Records show Chris Watts’ mistress Nichol Kessinger Googles Shanann Watts in 2017, nearly a YEAR before her & Chris began having an affair. Is this the sinister truth- or is the explanation simple? We found out.

Chris Watts’ mistress Nichol Kessinger is currently on trial. No, it’s not happening at the Weld County Courthouse in Colorado where her boyfriend was sentenced. It’s taking place across the internet- in comment sections of news articles, posts on Reddit & YouTube videos. In the Court of Public Opinion, and as long as you have WiFi, you too can serve as judge and jury.

Nichol Kessinger dated a married man, and she knew he was wed. According to Kessinger’s 2018 police interviews, Watts told her he and his wife Shanann Watts were separating and planned to divorce. Later in his 2019 interrogation, Chris confirmed this, admitting he lied to Nikki about being separated and divorcing (we’ve been in the process of typing the entire five hour interview- if you’re interesting you can read the Chris Watts Confession Transcript here).

Despite this, a vast amount of true crime followers don’t buy it. They are extremely vocal about their position that not only did Nikki know that Chris was taken man, but she was involved in the crimes. Of course, cheating isn’t right, and it’s absolutely not out of the realm of possibility that she knew more about the actual status of his relationship than she admitted in an attempt …

On March 11, 2019, Shanann Watts’ parents appeared on the Dr. Phil show. Shanann’s mother Sandi Rzucek, her father Frank Rzucek, and brother Frankie Rzucek Jr. sat down with Dr. Phil and discussed their reaction towards Chris Watts’ horrific admission about the way he killed their beloved daughter and grandchildren. Despite everything they have been through – truly the worst nightmare imaginable – this family is remarkable. Their grace and strength shines through the darkness, and to call them ‘inspiring’ is putting it lightly.

Sandi also revealed something quite amazing: on the morning her daughter died, she awoke from sleep and ‘felt’ her daughter’s spirit. Call it mother’s intuition or something more spectacular, but Shanann’s mother immediately knew something was wrong. This is backed up by case evidence. When Shanann Watts’ friend Nickole Atkinson became concerned after not hearing from Shanann the morning of her untimely death, she called Sandi Rzucek. Police body cam captured part of the speaker phone conversation where Sandi said Chris was “acting funny”. Shortly after, it is recorded in police reports that Sandi reached out to the police directly (this was before Shanann, Bella and Celeste were even considered missing persons) and stated she believed there was “foul play” and “[Chris Watts] was involved in the disappearance of her daughter and grandchildren”.

Chris Watts has been placed on suicide watch, a source with Wisconsin Department of Corrections told RadarOnline this afternoon. While the exact reasoning for placing Chris Watts on suicide watch is unclear, Radar implies it is due to statements he made to the FBI, CBI, and Frederick CO police last month regarding other inmates encouraging him to harm himself.

This doesn’t quite make sense (and I have another theory why this occurred, which I’ll discuss below). For the past several days, we’ve been typing up the Chris Watts confession interview transcript in it’s entirety, and the issue with other inmates occurred at his former jail in Weld County, Colorado. He was only there for a few months before being moved to Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, Wisconsin (where the most recent FBI interview took place), and says he is much happier there and has no issues with other prisoners. Below is exactly what Chris stated in the interview about problems in prison, and life in his new facility:

Chris Watts Confession Transcription: Read the full transcript of the five hour interview with FBI, CBI and Frederick, CO police.

For over 24 hours I have been working on the Chris Watts confession transcription. It’s taking a VERY long time, especially since Chris can have moments where he talks very fast, mumbles at the same time, and doesn’t finish a thought before jumping to the next. With that, I have done my best! Chris uses excessive amounts of “likes” and “ums”- in some cases I have removed those unnecessary fillers without changing the other words if it made the sentence overly difficult to understand in print. There are also a few times where it is absolutely impossible to understand a word/sentence he said- in that case I added a note or (??). Additionally, occasional notes have been marked and added for clarity. Before Shanann Watts left on a weekend work trip to Arizona, she took time out of packing and preparing to write a heartfelt letter to her husband, Chris Watts. She carefully crafted sentences expressing her love and sharing all the little things she appreciated about Chris, while noting growing concerns about her husband’s distant demeanor and reluctance to stand up for his daughters after a recent family problem.

When Shanann Watts shared a photo of the letter she wrote through text with her friend Sara, she didn’t know this would be the last letter she would ever pen. She didn’t know that during the time she was putting ink to paper, trying so hard to find words that would resonate with her husband and motivate him to make their marriage a priority, that he was transferring risqué images of his mistress to a hidden app on his phone. Chris Watts was living a double life, trying to meticulously hide an affair from his 16 week pregnant wife. But what Shanann did know was that something wasn’t right- something had changed, and she planned to do everything she could to try to fix the relationship with the father of her children and the man she vowed to love and cherish until death do them part.

Recently a 2000 page Discovery document from the Watts case was released publicly, detailing the investigation from day one. The report shows just how through the inquiry was, filled with police notes, interview transcripts, and Shannon and Chris Watts’ phone and text records and conversations. Over the next few days, Crime Lights will be diving into the report and discussing interesting aspects of it to give a clearer picture of exactly what investigators uncovered.
